Pamela Poole

Pamela Poole's parents were living as newlyweds in Charleston, SC with the Air Force when she and her sister were born, but later she grew up in the foothills of NC in Hickory. She and her husband Mark raised their two children in the Lake Norman area near Charlotte before one of their dreams came true with an unexpected opportunity to move to Charleston. The move was a timely one, since Pamela was about to begin painting seriously after stopping to home educate their son for 10 years. As he began college, she began to teach art to home educated teens for a SC High School credit and participate in the local artist guilds. As a history buff and artist, Charleston is an endless source of inspiration for her. However, another unexpected move has placed her in the Aiken, SC area, where she is looking forward to the new art venues and friends.

Pamela lives life "seeing" artistically, always composing paintings in her imagination from everyday experiences. She considers this to be a wonderful way to live life, and is a true gift from God. Her favorite painting mediums are watercolor, pastel, and the new Interactive Acrylics, and each has a quality she loves to use that she can't get with the others. Subjects just seem to have an appropriate medium that expresses what she is trying to convey from her inspiration. Color thrills her and she is lavish with it! Pamela's work is considered to be somewhat impressionistic, often with compositions that run off of the edges of the painting to imply the world around the subject.

"A painting should be understandable to any viewer," says Pamela. "I hope to use my inspiration to in turn inspire others, intending to be a blessing to viewers and collectors as they relate to a timeless composition that is universally appealing."

Pamela was honored as one of the Who's Who Among American Teachers in 2005-2006. Her artist affiliations include being an exhibiting member of the Summerville Artist Guild (past President), exhibiting member of the Charleston Artists Guild, the Charleston Outdoor Painters Association, the SC Watermedia Society, the North Augusta Artist Guild, and the Aiken Artist Guild. Pamela has taught art classes to home educated teens, in Christian schools, the Hickory Museum of Art, and after-school enrichment Arts Teams, including planning and teaching one class for the NC Governor First Lady Mrs. Jim Hunt. My most visible work is an historical mural displayed for over a decade in Claremont City Park, NC.
