Andrew Corley

Working in oils primarily with a pallet knife, Andrew Corley a native of Edgefield, paints a variety of landscapes and cityscapes related to South Carolina. Some of his favorite subjects are low-country marshes, rivers, coastal scenes and mountains. "I paint what I know, I paint things that soothe me and I think that is part of the reason a handful of people enjoy my art" says Andrew, "for me art should be pleasurable both to create and to view". Having some success in working with watercolors, his favorite medium is oils. He maintains a small display in Havens Framemakers & Gallery 1616 Gervais Street Columbia, SC 29201 where he often participates in painting classes that inspire him and allow him to connect with other local artists. Andrew regularly writes a blog about art and art-related topics which he started in 2009. There you can read tips about painting and other topics as well as view some of his paintings and current art projects. That website is: http://anartistsadventure.blogspot.com/ . When he isn't painting, Andrew pretends to be a Spanish professor at The University of South Carolina in Columbia.
