Award winning artist Barbara Yon will be featured at the Hitchcock Health Center during the month of October. Barbara now resides in Ridge Spring, SC. She works in water media in conjunction with collage and many other painting paraphernalia. She enjoys experimenting with the media.
Barbara's exhibit will feature some collages made from Far East papers collected from mission trips to Japan, Taiwan and Indonesia. She is a recipient of numerous awards at the state and national levels, including the South Carolina Watercolor Society Traveling Show for two years. Barbara is a member of Anderson Artist Guild, Aiken Artist Guild, Art Association of Ridge Spring and the South Carolina Watercolor Society.
Her paintings are part of private and public collections across the nation and abroad. She was selected to decorate a life size horse for the Horseplay in Aiken, A six-foot fish for the Fish Out of Water-Hooked on the Arts in Anderson, and a 1943, John Deere tractor for the town of Ridge Spring. All these projects were done in mosaics using stained glass.
